What do I need to know about the Hall of Monuments and Guild Wars 2?
The achievements and honors accumulated by all the characters on your Guild Wars account are commemorated in the Hall of Monuments, which is only available in Guild Wars: Eye of the North. The monuments in the Hall are worth points that will provide your Guild Wars 2 characters with exclusive titles, items, mini-pets, and animal companions.
Use the Hall of Monuments Reward Calculator to determine what rewards you've unlocked, and discover what other items will be available in Guild Wars 2.
Linking Guild Wars 2 to Your Guild Wars Account
Please note: Once you link a Guild Wars account to Guild Wars 2, you cannot un-link them. Choose wisely and type carefully!
- Sign in to your Guild Wars 2 account here.
- Click Link Accounts on the left-hand side.
- Enter your original Guild Wars account name and password exactly as you would if you were logging in.
- Click the Link Account button.
- Click OK.
If you receive a message stating that “A server error has been encountered…,” please make sure that you entered the correct account name and password for the original Guild Wars account. If the message persists, you will need to contact support directly with the following information:
- Your 25-digit Guild Wars 2 serial code
- Your original Guild Wars account name
It’s possible that you may be asked to verify additional account information before your issue can be resolved. This is to ensure the security of each player’s account.
If you are having difficulty linking your Guild Wars accounts, please try resetting your password when you encounter the password error message.
Important Note: You cannot link your Guild Wars 2 account to the NCSOFT Master Account (NCMA) system or link the two games through your NCMA. In addition, you do not need access to your existing NCMA to purchase Guild Wars 2 or to link it to your existing Guild Wars account.
How can I change my account name (e-mail address)?
Original Guild Wars Accounts:
If your Guild Wars account is not linked to a Guild Wars 2 account, you can change your Guild Wars Account Name (log-in, e-mail). To change your Account Name, please do the following:
- Log into the account management page with your original Guild Wars credentials.
- Select Edit Profile.
- Enter a new and valid e-mail address in the Account Name field under the Change Account Name section.
- Confirm the password associated with the account.
- Click SAVE CHANGES.
Please note that if you change the name of an account that was linked to an NCSOFT Master Account, you will have two separate accounts. The NCSOFT Master Account will still be active for any other NCSOFT games associated with the account. The information you entered under Change Account Name will be your new Guild Wars account information.
Guild Wars 2 Accounts and Linked Accounts:
- If you have never verified the e-mail address currently tied to your account, please follow the instructions for Guild Wars accounts above.
- If your e-mail has been verified, or if you are unable to complete the steps above, please submit a ticket to our Customer Support team with your desired new e-mail address.
Can I play my Guild Wars character in Guild Wars 2?
Guild Wars 2 is a whole new game with different professions and races, new technology, and expanded gameplay. Therefore, it is not possible to use an original Guild Wars character in Guild Wars 2. However, the Hall of Monuments in Guild Wars 2 recognizes the special achievements of your original Guild Wars characters and provides you with unique rewards in Guild Wars 2 that showcase those achievements.
Can I change my Display Name?
Your display name is the name followed by four numbers (for example, Joe.1234) which is shown on the forums and Leaderboards. At the present time, we do not offer display name changes.
Please keep an eye on the Official Guild Wars 2 News Feed for the latest news and updates.
If my Guild Wars account has been terminated, can I still use my Hall of Monuments for Guild Wars 2?
No. Once an account has been terminated it cannot be accessed again. This includes the ability to link that account to a Guild Wars 2 account. If a Guild Wars or Guild Wars 2 account is terminated, we cannot un-link the terminated account to allow a new account to be linked.
