Guilds and Guild Halls

For a comprehensive look at the new systems for Guilds and Guild Halls, check out our blog.

How do I get into the Guild Initiative Office?

The Guild Initiative Office is located in Lion’s Arch. To unlock it for everyone in a guild, a member with the “Purchase Upgrades” permission must talk to the Guild Registrar in Lion’s Arch.

Where did my guild’s upgrades go?

Most upgrades will be grandfathered into the new system. The table below shows which will be grandfathered and how to access them in the new system.

For information on how Guild Missions will work in the new system, please see these two blog articles.

Creating an emblem for your guild no longer requires an unlock.

There will be a new featured called the Workshop in Guild Halls, but it’s unrelated to the old upgrade. In the new system, upgrades and consumables will be created through separate queues at appropriate buildings.

Guild Boosts

There are new permanent versions of guild boosts now available through Gamli in the Tavern (for PvE boosts) and Sophia in the War Room (for WvW boosts).

Yes. More information on the new Boosts can be found in this blog post.

How does Influence work now?

Influence is being retired, but guilds can still spend any they previously earned with vendors in the Initiative Headquarters and in their Guild Halls. For more information on how Influence will be changing, check out this blog post. You can see how much Influence your guild has remaining (along with the new currencies) in the main tab of the Guild Panel.

What should I do with my unspent Influence items?

You can still use these items to grant Influence (which can be spent in the new system).

What about Merits and Commendations?

Merits are being retired – they can no longer be obtained or spent.  Completing guild missions will now award Favor instead of Merits.  Personal Commendations will still be awarded once per week per mission and can still be spent like before. The Commendation vendor is now located in the Guild Initiative Office in Lion’s Arch.
